While working on my car last weekend, my wife came home, so I packed up shop and and rushed in to be with her (cause I'm a good person, and she has a little person growing in her) Any who, so I went to my day job of not being a idiot who talks into a mic, and the car was making a noise like it was flat, coming from the tire I worked on last. So I get out check the tire by hand, all seems well,
go work for 8 hours;
drive home, Hmm, still sounds funny. Get home bust out tool box, get ready to jack car back up, put tire iron on to take off bolts, and.... they are ALL LOOSE!
Oh my lord, could have maybe died or worst.
SO psa time fellows, check your lug nuts/studs or what ever your vehicle has at least twice before you drive off like an idiot.
PSA OVER
On a side note its a Volvo V70R with a nice oppo sticker on back, would have been a shame to bust it up.

I had a similar issue once upon a time. Put it back on after something (tie rod change?) and tightened the lugs down. Drove it 5 miles or so no problem. Then the next day, it wasn't sounding right. I went to take it off and bam! Lug nuts weren't even hand tight. Not cool.

yeah its crazy to me that, its like the "is the computer plugged in" step in trouble shooting computer problems. SOooo simple, but some times its overlooked

i'm guilty too of this.
ripped hole in tyre sidewall of rental car in Ireland (2000 Opel Corsa 3cyl), changed wheel , drove off , something doesn't feel right.
put the wheel brace back on nuts , sure enough only finger tight.
whoopsy.

Eeep! Glad you realized it before something bad happened. My brother one time noticed a funny noise after he'd had his tires replaced at a tire shop. He was driving on the freeway when he noticed it, so he pulled over to check. The shop didn't tighten his lug nuts tight enough! Guess even the "pros" can forget, too.
And also, congrats to you and your wife on the baby-to-be! ^_^

I did that last April. My winter tire had a flat, so I just changed to summers (it hopes that it being April, the snow would be gone soon) and forgot to do up the right rear wheel. Driving down the road "thunk thunk thunk" .....me "fuck...another flat again???"
I pulled over. No...it's just me driving on hand tightened lug nuts!! How safe!
